Dr Md. Imtaiyaz Hassan is a decorated scientist with the unique distinction of being a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology, UK (FRSB), as well as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK (FRSC), and has vast experience in the area of structure-based drug design and discovery. After completing his BSc in Chemistry in 2001 and MSc in Biotechnology in 2003 (with a gold medal) from Aligarh Muslim University, Dr Hassan moved to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, for his doctoral studies, where he graduated in 2007 with a gold medal. He worked as a Young Scientist at Jamia Millia Islamia from 2007–2009 and was selected as a Fellow of the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum at Saint Louis University, Saint Louis, USA, in 2011. Since 2009, Dr Hassan has been working as an assistant professor at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.
