Irshad Hussain was born in Jhang (Punjab), Pakistan. He received MSc (Chemistry) from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, and PhD in Chemistry (Nanomaterials) from the University of Liverpool, UK, in 2005. He is a founding member of Syed Babar Ali School of Science & Engineering (SBASSE), Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), and has led the Chemistry department for many years. Currently, he is a Professor in Department of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering and leading Functional Nanomaterials Group at LUMS. His research interests include the applications of metal/metal oxide nanoparticles, nanocomposites and porous materials in renewable energy technologies, biomedical sciences and environmental sciences.
