Elisa Cairrao is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Beira Interior. She graduated in Biology from Aveiro University in 2000. She received a PhD in Biomedicine at the University of Beira Interior in 2009. She has one national patent and has published four book chapters. She was invited to be a jury member for 4 Ph.D. theses and more than 200 master theses, and to peer-review articles for indexed journals (Environmental International, Circulation, Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine, Cardiovascular Therapeutics, International Journal of Molecular Sciences, Pharmacological Reports, Molecules, etc). She has been involved as a team member in projects funded by the FCT or national entities. She has published over 60 papers.
