My first research direction focuses on crop yield prediction using satellite remote sensing, machine learning, and process-based ecosystem modeling. I am particularly interested in forecasting crop yields under climate change, with an emphasis on the impacts of extreme events such as droughts and heatwaves. My second research direction focuses on wildfire monitoring using high-spatial-resolution satellite data and deep learning. I am interested in investigating the drivers of wildfires and mapping burn scars at both regional and global scales.
