Srinivasa Reddy Bonam is an Instructor in the field of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. His research is now focused on advancing innovative mRNA-based vaccines and therapies. He obtained his PhD in 2018 from the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) in India. The focus of his research was on novel immunomodulators and vaccine adjuvants. While pursuing his doctorate, he received the prestigious Raman Charpak Fellowship (RCF) for six months. This fellowship allowed him to conduct research under Prof. Sylviane Muller's supervision at the Institut de biologie moléculaire et cellulaire (IBMC), located at the University of Strasbourg in France. His research during this period focused on P140 (Lupuzor®), a 21-mer peptide that exhibits therapeutic effects against SLE. Between 2018 and early 2020, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Prof. Sylviane Muller. Subsequently, he collaborated with Prof. Jagadeesh Bayry at INSERM, Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers, Paris, France, to pursue his postdoctoral investigation into diverse facets of immunology, encompassing regulatory T cells (Tregs), basophils, "next-generation flu vaccines for the world (INDIGO)", and COVID-19 (COVIMUNE). He has authored 30 research publications, 30 review papers, 5 book chapters, and holds a few patents. His articles have received 2700 citations, resulting in an h-index of 30 and an i10-index of 50.
