Dr. Gulzar H. Shah, PhD, M Stat, MS is the Department Chair and Professor of Health Policy and Community Health at Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health (JPHCOPH), Georgia Southern University. He also served the JPHCOPH as the Associate Dean for Research from July 2014 to June 2017. Before joining JPHCOPH in 2012, Dr. Shah served the National Association of County and City Health Departments (NACCHO), the National Association of Health Data Organizations (NAHDO), and the Utah State Department of Health. Health Informatics is one of his primary research interests. Dr. Shah is charged with building the health informatics capacity of the future public health workforce with a grant from the DHHS, Office of Nation Coordinator for HIT, as a part of the consortium led by the University of Minnesota. Dr. Shah serves on the editorial board of the American Journal of Public Health, BMC Public Health, International Journal of Environmental Research Public Health, and Frontiers in Public Health, and as the consulting editor for the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice.
