Clemente Capasso is a senior researcher at the National Research Council, Italy. Since 1992, his research has focused on the structure/function relationship of native and recombinant proteins encoded by the genomes of terrestrial and marine organisms as well as pathogenic microbes. This allowed him to acquire extensive knowledge of most protein purification procedures and the kinetic, chemical–physical, and structural characterization of enzymes. He has written more than 13 book chapters and published over 200 papers. He acquired intense training in Italian and international laboratories. He is Editor in Chief of All Life Methods and Associate Editor of the Journal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry. He is on the Editorial Board of many scientific journals, such as the Expert Opinion on Therapeutic Patents and the International Journal of Molecular Science.
