Over the last few years, I have worked on different projects aimed at understanding virus-host interactions, which led to publications in different journals, such as Cell Death and Disease, Science, Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology among others. Experience as an immunology substitute professor and a postdoctoral training abroad (France-Paris), encouraged me to invest in projects that would connect the areas of virology, immunology and also metabolism, in order to use immunometabolism as a tool to understanding the molecular bases of inflammatory processes induced during viral infection. Since 2023, when I began a new contract at Aarhus University in Denmark, I have been exploring the role of NLRP1 (inflammasome) during RNA virus infections, such as ZIKA and Vesicular Stomatitis Virus (VSV), in various cell models.
