Information

Said Khabba is a physician and has a background in agro-climatology and modelling. PhD in Thermal transfer from Cadi Ayyad University (UCA) Morocco. Senior Lecturer at UCA since 1996. He was co-director of the Joint International Laboratory "Remote Sensing and Water Resources in the Mediterranean Semi-Arid area TREMA, 2011-2015", Project leader of the Moroccan project "Resource and eco-hydrological operation of the Tensift watershed, 2011-2015, RS/2011/09", and Moroccan PI of the SudMed program "Integrated water resources management in the Tensift watershed, Morocco 2009-2013" and ANR-TRANSMED AMETHYST project "Assessment of changes in MEdiTerranean HYdro-resources in the South: river basin Trajectories, 2013-2018". Moroccan Pl of the ERANET-MED CHAAMS project "Global Change: Assessment and Adaptation to the Mediterranean Region Water Scarcity, 2018-2020" and the PRIMA-ALTOS project “Managing water resources within Mediterranean agrosystems by accounting for spatial structures and connectivities”. His research focus on the crop water requirement, growth, development and yield in semi-arid areas. The approach used is based on the synergy between field measurement (meteorology, micrometeorology, yield, ...), simple and complex modeling (SVAT and crop operation) and satellite observations (multi-bands and multi-resolutions). In this research area, he has supervised a dozen PhDs. He published more than 85 peer-reviewed papers.
