Dr. Huan Tan is a postdoctoral researcher at the Physics Department of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and the Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2). She earned her PhD in Materials Science from the Institut de Ciència de Materials de Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC) in 2023, graduating with the distinction of Cum Laude. Following her doctoral studies, Dr. Tan continued his research as a postdoctoral researcher at UAB and later joined ICN2, contributing to the ERC Advanced project.
Dr. Tan’s research focuses on ferroelectric and magnetoelectric materials, particularly their applications in next-generation memory and data security technologies. His work primarily explores: 1) the photovoltaic and memristive properties of ferroelectric thin films, especially HfO₂-based systems, 2) the use of piezoresponse force microscopy to investigate nanoscale polarization phenomena, and 3) the development of magnetoelectric and magneto-ionic materials for energy-efficient information storage and secure devices. She has authored or co-authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications, with over 780 citations (h-index = 16).
