HYAKUMURA Kimihiko is a professor at the Institute of Tropical Agriculture, Kyushu University, Japan. He received his PhD in Agriculture from the University of Tokyo in 2007. He worked as a researcher at the Institute of Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) in Kanagawa, Japan, from 1998 to JFY 2010, and then at the Institute of Tropical Agriculture, Kyushu University, from JFY 2011 to the present. Since JFY 2023, he has been the Director of the Institute of Tropical Agriculture of the university. His area of expertise is forest policy, and he is also well versed in area studies of Southeast Asia, as well as in political ecology and other studies related to natural resource management. His academic affiliations include the Japanese Society of Tropical Ecology, the Japanese Forestry Society, and the Society of Biosophia Studies.
