Ioannis Spingos completed his BSc in geology and geoenvironment at the National Kapodistrian University in Fall 2016 and later obtained an MSc degree in seismology from the same institution, in January 2019, continuing on as a PhD candidate. Mr. Spingos has worked in several nationally and EU co-funded research projects at different institutions. His research interests include shear-wave splitting, seismic hazard analysis, seismotectonics and, recently, earthquake early-warning. Furthermore, he is interested in developing seismological applications in the Python programming language (including GUIs). He actively participates in the installation and maintenance of seismological stations of the Hellenic Unified Seismological Network. Mr. Spingos is also a research member at the Institute of Physics of the Earth’s Interior and Geohazards, UNESCO Chair on Solid Earth Physics and Geohazards Risk Reduction, Hellenic Mediterranean University Research Center.
