As a physician trained in Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine, I have extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of tuberculosis, HIV, tropical diseases and pediatric infectious diseases. Since 2015, I have served as Head of the Infectious Diseases (ID) Team at Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño San Borja (INSNSB), a highly specialized pediatric referral hospital in Lima, Peru. In this role, I oversee ID support for six major clinical areas: burn care, neurosurgery, cardiovascular services, neonatology, orthopedics, and hematology/oncology.
I have led the implementation of an antimicrobial stewardship program grounded in prospective audit with feedback and systematic chart review, with the goal of optimizing antimicrobial use and improving patient outcomes.
