Juan Manuel Escaño is an Associate Professor at the University of Seville. He is a senior member of IEEE and a member of EUSFLAT, IFAC, and ISA. Previously, he has been Associate Professor at Universidad Loyola Andalucía and the Advanced Control Systems Group Leader of Nimbus Research Centre at Cork Institute of Technology. He has 30 years of experience in the academy and industry. His current research interests are focused on Intelligent Control Systems, Fuzzy Model Predictive Control, Embedded Control Systems, and fault detection and tolerant systems. He has been involved in a number of international and national research projects in Process Industry and Energy. Key areas of Expertise: Model predictive control, fuzzy inference systems, fault detection, control of energy systems.
