Biography

I completed a degree in biology at the Universidad de Guadalajara. In my thesis, worked with the ecology of reptile communities. As part of my Ph.D. studies, I developed my thesis on community ecology of lizards, establishing patterns of biodiversity in different vegetation cover and land use. Currently, I am the leader of the Laboratorio de Ecología, Paisaje y Sociedad of CUCOSTA. The Laboratory projects are focused on studies of conservation biology, landscape ecology, valuation of ecosystem services, effects of land use change on biodiversity, and territorial planning. My current investigation line is aimed at evaluating the effects of fragmentation and the change in land use on natural resources for designing public political strategies for territorial planning. I am a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNII) of the Consejo Nacional de Humanidades, Ciencias y Tecnologías (CONAHCYT)
