Dr. Josemar Gonçalves de Oliveira Filho holds the position of visiting researcher at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Illinois in Chicago, with a primary focus on nanotechnology research. Simultaneously, he has been conducting my postdoctoral research at the National Nanotechnology Laboratory for Agribusiness (LNNA) at Embrapa Instrumentation since 2022. He earned his Ph.D. in Food and Nutrition with a focus on Food Science in 2022 from São Paulo State University (UNESP). Before that, he completed his Master's degree in Agrochemistry in 2018 and obtained his Bachelor's degree in Agroecology in 2015, with technical training in Agroindustry in 2013. Throughout his career, he has contributed as an ad hoc reviewer for various scientific journals, including Food Chemistry, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, and Food Packaging and Shelf Life. Between 2018 and 2022, he served as a collaborating researcher at the Post-harvest Technologies of Fruits and Vegetables Laboratory at Embrapa Instrumentation. His research primarily focuses on the production of smart nanofibers using the solution blow spinning technique and on active, bioactive, and intelligent nanostructured biopolymeric films for food applications. He also works on the development of nanostructured edible coatings and nanoemulsions for disease control and enhancing the post-harvest quality of fruits.
