Prof. Kadir Bilisik obtained his Ph.D. in Textile Engineering from the University of Leeds, UK, in 1991. He served as an postdoctoral research in Textile Engineering at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, USA, from 1992 to 1994. Between 1999 and 2002, he was employed as a senior engineer at 3TEX Inc. in North Carolina, USA. In 2002, he was appointed as a full Professor and subsequently established and chaired the Department of Textile Engineering at Erciyes University. Prof. Bilisik holds 13 national and international patents and has authored 98 papers indexed in SCI or SCI-EXP, 16 book chapters, 10 national conference proceedings, 58 international conference proceedings, and 22 technical publications, accumulating a total of 217 publications across various fiber-based disciplines. He has been recognized in the Stanford University/Elsevier ranking study, which lists the top 2% of scientists globally in the fields of Materials, Polymers, and Enabling Technology for the years 2019-2022. He is a member of several professional organizations, including The Textile Institute (TI), Balkan Society of Textile Engineers, Space.com, The Mars Society, Academia.edu, and Researchgate.net. Additionally, he serves on the editorial boards of Frontiers in Mechanical Engineering (Tribology); Textile Research Journal; Journal of Industrial Textiles; Fibers and Polymers; Academia Nano: Science, Materials, Technology; Erciyes FBE Journal; and Academia Materials Science.
