Nowadays the size and quality of potato yields is very important aspect in agriculture, due to the continuous climate change. Plants exposed to abiotic stress need new protection tools such as plant biostimulant. The new definition of this product include plant extracts as novel biostimulants. The aim of the study was to assess whether the extracts from Artemisia vulgaris L. would act as classic biostimulants, by affecting metabolic pathways. Since these are pilot studies, the content of chlorophyll, carotenoids, proline and polyphenols was chosen as indicators of changes in plants. The experiment was carried out under controlled environmental conditions on a very early cultivar Irys. The obtained results showed that foliar treatment of plants with extracts from Artemisia vulgaris L. had a positive effect on the increase of chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b content and its total concentration in potato leaves. The highest increase in the total chlorophyll content, amounting to 26.27% on average, was observed in plants sprayed with macerate at the dose of 0.6 mL·plant-1. Additionally, an increase in the carotenoids content was observed in plants sprayed with macerate. The study demonstrated that the polyphenols level was largely dependent on the method of extracts production and the dose of the tested extracts. Macerate and infusion applied in a higher dose induced in plants the changes in the concentration of polyphenols. The overall evaluation of the effectiveness of the tested preparations showed higher effectiveness of the macerate for all the analyzed traits.

The paper presented examines the dynamics of wear of restored parts using different materials for the friction pair. The pair of crankshaft and sliding bearing largely determines the machine service life – although their overall wear index is less than 1%, it can still lead to a large number of failures and malfunctions. Vibrating arc overlaying in a shield of gas mixture of 60% argon and 40% carbon dioxide was used for restoring the surface of rollers. Subsequently, these were treated by heating with high-frequency current (HFC) and lowered to a hardness of 55±2 HRC and ground to the final size. It was found that the antifriction coating of plain bearings with electrochemical lead alloy ЕО92 showed excellent performance and insignificant wear in combination with reference material St45 and welded coating DUR500. In combination with electrochemical lead alloy ЕО92, the welded coating DUR500 showed a significantly higher wear on actuation compared to the reference material St45 at sliding friction. The relative wear resistance enhancement of crankshafts and bearings by restorative coatings represents an essential measure, as their service life can be prolonged by 20–50% in contrast to the new parts without restorative coatings.

Currently, the process of creating industrial installations is associated with digital technologies and must involve the stage of developing digital models. It is also necessary to combine installations with different properties, functions, and operational principles into a single system. Some tasks require the use of predictive modeling and the creation of “digital twins”. The main processes during the fuel cell modeling involve electrochemical transformations as well as the movement of heat and mass flows, including monitoring and control processes. Numerical methods are utilized in addressing various challenges related to fuel cells, such as electrochemical modeling, collector design, performance evaluation, electrode microstructure impact, thermal stress analysis, and the innovation of structural components and materials. A digital model of the membrane-electrode unit for a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) is presented in the article, incorporating factors like fluid dynamics, mass transfer, and electrochemical and thermal effects within the cell structure. The mathematical model encompasses equations for momentum, mass, mode, heat and charge transfer, and electrochemical and reforming reactions. Experimental data validates the model, with a computational mesh of 55 million cells ensuring numerical stability and simulation capability. Detailed insights on chemical flow distribution, temperature, current density, and more are unveiled. Through a numerical model, the influence of various fuel types on SOFC efficiency was explored, highlighting the promising performance of petrochemical production waste as a high-efficiency, low-reagent consumption fuel with a superior fuel utilization factor. The recommended voltage range is 0.6–0.7 V, with operating temperatures of 900–1300 K to reduce temperature stresses on the cell when using synthesis gas from petrochemical waste. The molar ratio of supplied air to fuel is 6.74 when operating on synthesis gas. With these parameters, the utilization rate of methane is 0.36, carbon monoxide CO is 0.4, and hydrogen is 0.43, respectively. The molar ratio of water to synthesis gas is 2.0. These results provide an opportunity to achieve electrical efficiency of the fuel cell of 49.8% and a thermal power of 54.6 W when using synthesis gas as fuel. It was demonstrated that a high-temperature fuel cell can provide consumers with heat and electricity using fuel from waste from petrochemical production.

A large part of machines (85–90 %) (Garkunov, 2003) lose their efciency due to wear of parts, which disrupts their normal interaction, causes additional loading, shocks and vibrations, leads to seizures and jams and to accidents in many cases. This paper presents research methods for tribological properties of restorative and preventive coatings in diferent lubricating media at sliding friction.

The application of technology for water erosion control plays an essential role in development of sustainable agricultural systems. The paper presented observes the study results from a period of six years in terms of losses of mineral nitrogen and available forms of phosphorus and potassium in the cultivation of wheat and maize on sloping terrains (on calcic chernozem soil type) under the influence of water erosion processes. The impacts of four different types of technology (conventional technology performed along the slope; conventional technology applied across the slope; surface mulching; and minimum tillage with vertical mulching) on nutrient losses were tested. On average, the annual losses of mineral nitrogen, available forms of phosphorus and potassium in wheat production along the slope utilizing conventional technology were 6.0 kg·ha −1 y −1 , 1.6 kg·ha −1 y −1 , 5.9 kg·ha −1 y −1 , and 11.3 kg·ha −1 y −1 , 2.1 kg kg·ha −1 y −1 , 10.8 kg kg·ha −1 y −1 in maize production. The lowest losses in these elements occurred with minimal employment of tillage system, as they reached values of 2.3 kg·ha −1 y −1 ; 0.6 kg·ha −1 y −1 , 2.0 kg·ha −1 y −1 , respectively, in wheat production, and 1.7 kg·ha −1 y −1 , 0.3 kg·ha −1 y −1 , 1. kg·ha −1 y −1 , respectively, in maize production.

The article studies a methodic approach to the assessment of the types of balanced land use of rural areas based on the analytic hierarchy process in the context of sustainable development. In particular, the authors of the research present the assessment and trends of changes of the indicators of land use greening, which is the most sensitive element of sustainable development. To identify the directions of land use greening, the authors make a comparative assessment of the actual and standard (maximum) ecological parameters of land use on the territory of Trybukhivtsi amalgamated territorial community. Ploughness of the territory exceeds the norm by 22.5%; the share of perennial plants, hayfields and grassland in the total area of agricultural lands is by 12.5% below the norm; the share of forest cover is 9.5% lower than the norm required by law. Therefore, the authors propose a hierarchy structure of alternative types of planning the balanced development of land use for the studied territory. Based on the results of interrogated specialists and the conducted expert estimates, the researchers got a score of assessment criteria/subcriteria and priority alternatives of the land use types. The assessment of criteria/subcriteria and alternative types of the balanced land use development was used to compose comparative assessment matrixes and to identify and wyznaczthe priority vectors of land use planning by territorial communities. It is marked. Please note that the mentioned methodic approach can be used for determining the priorities of rural area development, which can be achieved by different measures. Rational combination of the priorities will shape the policy of sustainable development of rural areas.
