Karolina Matejczuk, PhD is an Associate Professor at Gdańsk University of Technology, specializing in microbiology, biotechnology, and natural therapeutics. She earned her doctoral degree in chemical sciences, focusing on antimicrobial mechanisms of bee-derived products and microbiota. Her academic career includes extensive research on bee derived and plant antimicrobials, as well as biotechnological and pharmaceutical potential of microorganisms isolated from bee products with several peer reviewed publications and conference activities that advanced understanding of bioactive compounds. What is more, she is an active member of Polish Society of Microbiologists and Phytochemical Society of Europe.
