Karolos-Alexandros Tsakalos received his B.Sc. and M.Eng. from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Democritus University of Thrace (DUTh), Xanthi, Greece, where he is currently a Ph.D candidate and teaching assistant, and he has received a scholarship from the 2nd Call for Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation Scholarships to Ph.D Candidates. His Ph.D. studies focuses on the design of nanoelectronic circuits and systems for neuromorphic applications, including learning and brain-inspired phenomena. Chimera states and neuromorphic behaviors through cellular automata and memristor-based network implementations are among his recent research interests.
