Dr. Hung is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).She has made significant contributions to translational women's health research, particularly through the development of novel therapeutics for endometriosis and related gynaecological disorders. With a unique interdisciplinary background bridging pharmaceutical science and clinical application, Dr. Hung employs integrated methodologies spanning bioinformatics, chemical proteomics, in vitro cellular assays, and in vivo animal models to elucidate disease mechanisms and identify therapeutic targets. Her pioneering work on ProEGCG, a novel prodrug of green tea catechin EGCG, has demonstrated superior efficacy and safety profiles through comprehensive preclinical studies. Ongoing clinical trials are positioning this therapeutic for clinical translation. She has also advanced AI-guided drug repurposing strategies through collaborations, enabling rapid identification and validation of novel therapeutic candidates for endometriosis. Her current research focus includes investigating central nervous system mechanisms underlying pain associated with endometriosis and menstrual disorders.
