Originally from Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, I completed a degree in biology at the Centro Universitario de la Costa of the Universidad de Guadalajara. In my thesis, worked with the ecology of reptile communities. As part of my Ph.D. studies, I developed my thesis on community ecology of lizards, establishing patterns of biodiversity in different types of vegetation in an elevation gradient. Currently, I have joined the Laboratorio de Ecología, Paisaje y Sociedad of CUCOSTA, where I am collaborating in various research projects. These projects are focused on the evaluation of biodiversity at the local and regional scale, the landscape ecology, the valuation of ecosystem services, effects of land use change, spatial planning and the integral management of coastal zones. My current investigation line is aimed at evaluating spatial patterns in biodiversity within the Jalisco coast, as well as determining the effects of fragmentation and the change of land use on these patterns. I am a member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNII) of the Consejo Nacional de Humanidades, Ciencias y Tecnologías (CONAHCYT)
