Stefan Kubik is professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Kaiserslautern. He studied chemistry in Düsseldorf and London and obtained his Ph.D. under the guidance of G. Wulff. He worked as a post-doc with J. Rebek Jr. at M.I.T. and subsequently started independent research at Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf. He was substitute professor in Wuppertal before moving to Kaiserslautern. He has edited a monograph about "Supramolecular Chemistry in Water" and has written the textbook "Supramolecular Chemistry – From Concepts to Applications". His research interests encompass anion recognition in water, mostly by using cyclic peptides and pseudopeptides, and the development of supramolecular scavengers for nerve agents.
