Rafael Lahoz-Beltra is a professor in the Department of Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution (Biomathematics), Faculty of Biology, Complutense University of Madrid. He is an expert evaluator in the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Future UE programs. He was a Fulbright and FPI scholar (1989–1992) at the Universities of New York and Arizona (USA) and a scholar in the UCM Professors Abroad program (2008 term) at the University of Nottingham (UK). In 2015, he won a 'Salvador de Madariaga' scholarship for Senior Scholars (2015 term) at the University of Stirling (Scotland, UK). He is the author of a patent and has received three entrepreneurship awards for technology-based business projects. At present, he is the director of the research group 'Modeling, Data Analysis and Computational Tools for Biology Research Group', Complutense University of Madrid.
