Luis Alfredo Pérez-Zarate is an agronomist with a Doctorate in Tropical Agroecosystems from the Colegio de Postgraduados, Campus Veracruz. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the same institution. His research on Huanglongbing citrus disease has led to multiple publications, conference presentations, and training courses. He is a member of scientific organizations, including the Mexican Society of Phytopathology, and has received academic distinctions, including an honorary mention for his doctoral dissertation. His research interest focus on the physiological and molecular responses of citrus species to different levels of tolerance to HLB, the role of phytohormones in citrus defense, and transcriptomic analysis of citrus under biotic stress.
