My current research interests include examining the causal relationships between alterations in the microbiome and the development, progression, and treatment of ovarian cancer. Work conducted during my graduate career has led me to this field. After showing that single alterations in diet can lead to significant changes in the intestinal microbiome, I would like to eventually determine how we can purposefully manipulate the microbiome in order to prevent or better treat various illnesses.
