Biography

I am a veterinarian and a Ph.D. candidate in the Natural Resources and Sustainable Management Doctoral Programme at the University of Córdoba (Spain), where I am a member of the PAIDI AGR-218 Research Group (Improvement and Conservation of Domestic Animal Genetic Resources). My research interests include animal breeding and genetics, conservation of animal genetic resources, quantitative genetics, phenomics, reproductive biology, and livestock sustainability. My doctoral research focuses on the functional characterization of the Lojeña sheep breed, integrating pedigree and demographic analyses, growth curve modelling, reproductive seasonality, productive longevity, and physiological indicators associated with resilience and adaptation. I am also interested in reproductive biotechnologies and germplasm conservation, particularly the application of semen cryopreservation and assisted reproductive technologies to preserve livestock genetic diversity. Through my research, I aim to contribute to the development of sustainable breeding and conservation strategies that improve the resilience, productivity, and long-term preservation of local animal genetic resources.
