Luis Felipe Ferreira de Mendonça graduated in Oceanography from the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) and obtained a PhD and Masters in Remote Sensing from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). He is a Professor of Remote Sensing in the Oceanography Department of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). His academic/professional profile is focused on studies and applications of remote sensing and numerical modeling in oceanography. He has expertise in numerical modeling and environmental studies of ocean–atmosphere interaction in the South Atlantic Ocean. In his Postdoctoral, he studies the impact of synoptic events on the dynamics of the South Brazilian Continental Shelf and southwest Atlantic Ocean, through the ocean–atmosphere coupled numerical modeling and remote sensing. He has two technical degrees, in electromechanical and instrumentation systems, with experience in programming languages and remote sensing data processing.
