Professor Hongbing Liu mainly engaged in the research and development of marine traditional Chinese medicine. For metabolic syndrome, tumor, Alzheimer's disease and other diseases, under the guidance of the theory and clinical practice of traditional Chinese medicine, and with the comprehensive use of natural drug chemistry, lipoomics, chemometrics and other multi-disciplinary technologies, it clarifies the material basis of the efficacy of marine traditional Chinese medicine, establishes a quality evaluation system, and develops new marine traditional Chinese medicine. He has presided over and completed the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the subproject of the National 863 Program, the Blue Medicine Library Project of Shandong Major Science and Technology Innovation Project, and the Qingdao Marine Bio medicine Science and Technology Innovation Center Project, published more than 50 high-level research papers, authorized 8 patents, and participated in the compilation of 4 works. He is a member of the compilation committee and the chemical professional committee of the large-scale series of marine traditional Chinese medicine "Chinese Marine Materia Medica".
