Biography

I am Dr. Libia Zulema Rodriguez-Anaya, researcher under the Investigadoras e Investigadores por México (IxM) program at SECIHTI and professor at the Instituto Tecnológico de Sonora (ITSON). I hold a PhD in Sciences with a specialization in Biotechnology and have advanced training in molecular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics. My scientific career focuses on the study of pathogenic free-living amoebae, particularly Balamuthia mandrillaris and Acanthamoeba spp., using multi-omics strategies and environmental detection approaches within the One Health framework. I have published several research articles in indexed international journals and actively contribute as a peer reviewer. I lead interdisciplinary research projects and supervise the training of specialized human resources in genomic sciences at graduate and postgraduate levels. My work aims to strengthen knowledge on molecular mechanisms of amoebic pathogenicity and to promote the development of innovative scientific solutions based on integrative omics analyses.
