Dr. Jaeyoung Jay Lee is a professor at the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering, Central South University. He received a master’s degree in Transportation System Engineering in 2009 from Asia University. In 2014, he earned a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Central Florida. From 2014 to 2015, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of
Central Florida. From December 2015 to August 2019, he was an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida. In August 2019, he joined Central South University as a professor. He is a member of ANB10 (Traffic Safety Management Research Group) and ANB50 (Alcohol, Other Drugs, and Traffic Research Group) of the Transportation Research Board of the United States. He has been engaged in research on traffic system safety analyses for a long time and has presided over or undertaken more than 20 scientific research projects funded by the US and South Korean governments, including three projects for the Florida Department of Transportation, three projects for the University Transportation Center of the US Federal Department of Transportation, ten projects funded by the South Korean government or research institutions, and one project for the US
National Contract Highway Research Program. His research interests include traffic safety, traffic planning, traffic operation and design, traffic big data, and intelligent transportation systems.
