Lorenzo Putzu is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cagliari, Italy, where he received his BS degree, MS degree and PhD in Computer Science in 2010, 2012 and 2016, respectively. Since 2012 he has worked on image processing and analysis systems, in particular, he focused on medical images in order to provide tools for automatic or semi-automatic diagnosis as a support for medical activity. He is the author of about 20 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and international conference proceedings related to this task.
His research interests include computer vision, medical image analysis, shape analysis and matching, image retrieval and classification. Currently, he is carrying out his research on image and video interpretation for crowd monitoring video surveillance tasks and on image analysis for computer-aided diagnosis systems.
