Lucía Lanza, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral Position / INSIBIO (CONICET-UNT)
I´m a researcher specializing in bacteriocins (antimicrobial peptides), with a focus on their characterization, mechanisms of action, and strategies to expand their antimicrobial spectrum. My work is particularly oriented toward the development of bacteriocins as food preservatives and as potential alternatives to antibiotics in clinical and veterinary applications.
I have extensive experience in microbiology and cell culture systems, including work with lactic acid bacteria, the RAW 264.7 cell line, and primary cultures such as peritoneal macrophages from BALB/c mice. My research also integrates molecular biology approaches applied to bacteria and yeast.
My technical expertise includes chemical synthesis (click chemistry), protein and peptide purification, and a wide range of molecular and microbiological techniques.
I have authored/co-authored 7 peer-reviewed publications and a patent solicitation. I´m a member of the Argentine Society for Research in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
