Maria Sassi, with a PhD in agricultural economics, is an associate professor with the Department of Economics and Management at the University of Pavia, Italy, a local Director of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree in Global Development Policy, and the Country Representative of EADI. She has extensive experience in teaching several courses in food economics and agriculture development. She took part as a member and coordinator in several international research projects supported by the European Union, international organizations, governments, and NGOs, mainly focused on food security and agricultural education issues in Sub-Saharan Africa. She has published articles in international journals on a variety of topics related to food security and agricultural development, mainly focused on the Sub-Saharan African context.
