I am a PhD student in Medicinal Chemistry at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). My research focuses on using fragment-based screening with NMR to identify inhibitors of Leishmania donovani nucleoside hydrolase (LdNH), aiming to develop more effective treatments for neglected diseases like leishmaniasis. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and have a Master's degree in Science, where I studied the structure-activity relationships of flavonoids as inhibitors of LdNH using NMR. This combination of fragment screening and natural products provides a strong foundation for designing novel inhibitors. I enjoy working with NMR due to its versatility in drug discovery and structural biology, offering unique challenges and opportunities.
