Dr Mathieu David is associate professor at the University of La Réunion (Réunion). He is a lecturer at the graduate school of engineers ESIROI and he is currently the head of the research laboratory PIMENT, which focuses on the energy transition of tropical and non-interconnected areas. He completed his PhD in Mechanics and Energy in 2005 at the University of La Réunion. His main field of interest is the energy meteorology. He is more specifically involved in research projects about low-consumption buildings in tropical areas and about the massive integration of intermittent renewables, such as solar, in non-interconnected areas. Dr Mathieu David acts as an expert in IEA programs in the domains of solar resource assessment and forecasting (IEA-SHC task 46 and IEA-PVPS task 16).
