Biography

Design, development, and application of analytical chemistry methods as well as design, development, and application of stable isotope methodology and technology such as the first GC(/MS)-C-IRMS instrument for simultaneous compound identification and compound specific isotope analysis of the various constituents of a complex sample. Work involving stable isotope analysis ranges from bio-medical applications over environmental to forensic applications. Examples incl. results of work in this areas can be found in the book Stable Isotope Forensics, the first textbook dedicated to principles and forensic applications of stable isotope analytical techniques, which since has been extensively up-dated. The second edition, Stable Isotope Forensics - Methods and Forensic Applications of Stable Isotope Analysis, was published in 2018.
