Dr. Mehmet Emin Bakir is a Senior Research Scientist at New Mexico State University, where his work focuses on applied artificial intelligence across domains where data, space, and time intersect. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Sheffield, and an M.Sc. in Software Engineering from the University of York. Dr. Bakir specializes in building end-to-end intelligent systems for geospatial, time-series, and multimodal data analysis. His current research involves leading the development and deployment of a production-ready precision-ranching platform, integrating LoRaWAN IoT, remote sensing, and advanced machine learning for near-real-time decision support. He is serving as a Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) on multi-million dollar funded grants for data science platform development and IoT projects. His current technical interests include multimodal data fusion, anomaly detection in high-velocity data, domain-adapted Large Language Models (LLMs), and explainable AI (XAI). Research Keywords Applied Artificial Intelligence, Spatiotemporal Data Analytics, Multimodal Data Fusion, Explainable AI (XAI), Anomaly Detection, Edge Computing
