We have been examining how an intelligent lighting system affects energy consumption in the office. In this paper, we evaluate the traditional intelligent lighting system at the office and how to improve the best use of the intelligent lighting system by each user. The user in the large office is not able to change the level of luminance. Moreover, the traditional lighting system is not able to specify which desk is occupied or not occupied by each worker. The proper use of lighting control affects the power consumption, and the worker sometimes forgets to change the occupancy status after leaving the office, which affects the energy. This paper argues to find the best model of the intelligent lighting system to save energy by using the technology of sensing devices for detecting the occupancy of the desk. As a result, we found that each worker has the individual lighting system, and the energy of the office is reduced by improving the intelligent lighting system.

We consider the problem of improving the performance of smart lighting system by estimating the level of illuminance and color temperature for each user in the workplace. In the conventional method of lighting control system, the chroma meter sensing device is used to measure the illuminance and the color temperature level in the desk. The new method has been developed to provide the level of illuminance and color temperature without using chroma meter for each user at the workplace. The approach has been developed to increase the efficiency of energy in the workplace. Therefore, the smart lighting system with chroma meter has become very useful to provide a level of illuminance and color temperature for each user, but the lighting control system with chroma meter become expensive, and it is an obstacle to introduce the system for each office as the chroma meter is very expensive. In this paper, the level of color temperature has been estimated by using the property of light for color temperature for each user in the office while minimizing the energy. The results conclude that the proposed model of the system could provide illuminance and color temperature for users without using chroma meter, as well the energy could be reduced.

We consider the problem of using the intelligent lighting system to cut energy consumption at the workplace. In this paper, we evaluate the use of energy at the office by comparing our method with the conventional method of the intelligent lighting system. In the large office environments, the traditional lighting system is not able to reach the desk and specify which occupied space or unoccupied by each worker. The proper use of the lighting system affects energy consumption in the office. For instance, the worker forgets to toggle the status of the occupancy after leaving the office, which changes the energy reduction. As a result, the new model of the intelligent lighting system can save and deduct the energy of the office.

We consider the using of the lighting control system to reduce the power consumption of the workplace. In Japan, the standard level of illuminance for each user is about the half general illuminance of 700 lx at the office based on the Japanese Industrial Standards recommendation. However, the intelligent lighting system provides the required individual illuminance for each user at the office as desire. We have conducted the experiments at the actual office in Japan to verify the impact of using the intelligent system in the power consumption of the office. We find that the intelligent lighting system is useful to provide a comfortable environment for each user and reduce the power consumption of the office environment.
