Biography

Michaël Beuve is a professor of physics at Claude Bernard University Lyon 1 and head of the PRISME Health division at the Institute of Physics of the Two Infinities (IP2I). A graduate engineer from the École Centrale of Lyon, he obtained a PhD in physics from the University of Caen in 1999, followed by a habilitation to supervise research in 2007. His international career has taken him to Argentina, Germany, and India, where he contributed to the development of numerical models for the effects of ionizing radiation. He is the founder of the RADIOGRAAF platform, dedicated to proton irradiation of cells, and of the MyLife multi-scale modeling dynamics, which links physical phenomena, biological effects, and therapeutic responses, incorporating organ movements. To predict biological effects in hadron therapy, he created the NanOx biophysical model. A co-founder of national projects (LabEx PRIMES) and networks (ResPlANDIR), he participates in the coordination of several national and European projects (GdR MI2B, Horizon Europe - MAMBA), aimed at better understanding the effects of radiation on living tissues. He is a co-inventor of two patents and co-author of more than 100 publications in the fields of physics, radiobiology, radiochemistry, biomechanics, imaging, and radiotherapy.
