Dr. Paul Mireji is a research scientist in Biology of Disease Vectors and their Parasites, with a primary focus on tsetse and mosquito transmitted trypanosomiasis and malaria respectively in Sub-Sahara Africa. He has expertise in molecular biology and ecology, utilizing standard molecular, high throughput data analysis (genomic, RNA-seq and proteomic), field and chemical ecology tools to understand biology of parasite responses to drugs, parasite-vector interactions, vector olfaction and ecology. He has collaborated with colleagues in Africa, USA and UK to build research capacity in tsetse and mosquito transmitted trypanosomiasis and malaria respectively in sub-Saharan Africa
