Dr. Maria José Asins (ORCID: 0000-0002-4330-160X; ResearchID: B-6505-2014; Scopus: 7004203497) is a Professor of Research at Instituto Valenciano de Investigaciones Agrarias (Valencia, Spain), specialist in genetics (QTL analysis, construction of genetic maps, genetic map anchoring in physical map) applied to the improvement of cultivated plants (tomato and citrus) through the efficient use of genetic resources (particularly wild relatives of crops). Included in the Stanford list regarding her career-long citation impact (https://doi.org/10.1371/journal. pbio.3000918, Area: Plant Biology, Subarea: Agriculture, Agronomy), and index h = 32. Her objective is to unmask the genetic variation of agronomic interest in the germplasm of tomato and Citrus by means of QTL analysis in segregating populations to identify the beneficial alleles of candidate genes included in the intervals of the significant QTLs.
