Dr. Martínez is a Biologist, graduated from the Faculty of Sciences at UNAM. He completed a Master of Science degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology at CINVESTAV-IPN and a Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences at UNAM. He is currently a Senior Researcher C in the Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Unit of CIATEJ; he is Level II in the National System of Researchers and a Regular Member in the Mexican Academy of Sciences. His research interests focus primarily on the development and evaluation of a wide range of compounds with anticancer potential, as well as the development and characterization of materials for the localized delivery of therapeutic agents. In addition, he has developed tools for the timely diagnosis of cancer and has led projects focused on the development of alternative strategies for the control of ectoparasites.
