1 National Public Health Laboratory, Public Health Services, Ministry of Health, Tel Aviv, Israel

Biography

I established and run the bioinformatics unit at the National Health Laboratories of the Ministry of Health in Tel Aviv, Israel. My main focus is bioinformatic analysis of microbial genomes. I use primarily open source tools, and particularly R programming. I built a pipeline for analyzing our Mycobacterium tuberculosis Whole Genome Sequencing data and reporting the results. I collaborate with different departments in the Lab in different projects, working on different species, mostly but not only bacterial pathogens. My research involves identifying antibiotic resistance markers, characterization of phylogenic relationships, identifying outbreaks clusters and characterization of genome structure.
