Health is very important for human life. In particular, the health of the brain, which is the executive of the vital resource, is very important. Diagnosis for human health is provided by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) devices, which help health decision makers in critical organs such as brain health. Images from these devices are a source of big data for artificial intelligence. This big data enables high performance in image processing classification problems, which is a subfield of artificial intelligence. In this study, we aim to classify brain tumors such as glioma, meningioma, and pituitary tumor from brain MR images. Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and CNN-based inception-V3, EfficientNetB4, VGG19, transfer learning methods were used for classification. F-score, recall, imprinting and accuracy were used to evaluate these models. The best accuracy result was obtained with VGG16 with 98%, while the F-score value of the same transfer learning model was 97%, the Area Under the Curve (AUC) value was 99%, the recall value was 98%, and the precision value was 98%. CNN architecture and CNN-based transfer learning models are very important for human health in early diagnosis and rapid treatment of such diseases.
Today, internet and social media is used by many people, both for communication and for expressing opinions about various topics in many domains of life. Various artificial intelligence technologies-based approaches on analysis of these opinions have emerged natural language processing in the name of different tasks. One of these tasks is Sentiment analysis, which is a popular method aiming the task of analyzing people’s opinions which provides a powerful tool in making decisions for people, companies, governments, and researchers. It is desired to investigate the effect of using multi-layered and different neural networks together on the performance of the model to be developed in the sentiment analysis task. In this study, a new, deep learning-based model was proposed for sentiment analysis on IMDB movie reviews dataset. This model performs sentiment classification on vectorized reviews using two methods of Word2Vec, namely, the Skip Gram and Continuous Bag of Words, in three different vector sizes (100, 200, 300), with the help of 6 Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Units and 2 Convolution layers (MBi-GRUMCONV). In the experiments conducted with the proposed model, the dataset was split into 80%-20% and 70%-30% training-test sets, and 10% of the training splits were used for validation purposes. Accuracy and F1 score criteria were used to evaluate the classification performance. The 95.34% accuracy of the proposed model has outperformed the studies in the literature. As a result of the experiments, it was found that Skip Gram has a better contribution to classification success.

Thanks to social media, people are now able to leave guiding comments quickly about their favorite restaurants, movies, etc. This has paved the way for the field of sentiment analysis, which brings together various disciplines. In this study, Yelp restaurant reviews and IMDB movie reviews dataset were used together with the data collected from Twitter. Word2Vec (W2V), Global Vector (GloVe) and Bidirectional Encoder Representation (BERT) word embedding methods, Term Frequency-Reverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF), and the Bag-of-Words (BOW) were used on these datasets. Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), Recurrent Neural Network (RNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Naive Bayes (NB) were used in the sentiment analysis models. Accuracy, F-measure (F), Sensitivity (Sens), Precision (Pre), and Receiver Operating Characteristics (ROC) were used in the evaluation of the model performance. The Accuracy rates of the models created by the Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) methods using the IMDB dataset were in the range of 81%-90% and 84%-94%, respectively. These rates were in the range of 80%-86% and 81%-89% for the Yelp dataset, and in the range of 75%-79% and 85%-98% for the Twitter dataset. The models that incorporated the BERT word embedding method have the best performance, compared to the other models with ML and DL. Therefore, BERT method is recommended for this type of analysis in future studies.
The first place to get ideas on all the activities considered to occur in everyday life was the comments on the websites. This is an area that deals with these interpretations in the natural language processing, which is a sub-branch of artificial intelligence. Sentiment analysis studies, which is a task of natural language processing are carried out to give people an idea and even guide them with such comments. In this study, sentiment analysis was implemented on public user feedback on websites in two different areas. TripAdvisor dataset includes positive or negative user comments about hotels. And Rotten Tomatoes dataset includes positive (fresh) or negative (rotten) user comments about films. Sentiments analysis on datasets have been carried out by using Word2Vec word embedding model, which learns the vector representations of each word containing the positive or negative meaning of the sentences, and the Term Frequency Inverse Document Frequency text representation model with four machine learning methods (Naïve Bayes-NB, Support Vector Machines-SVM, Logistic Regression-LR, K-Nearest Neighbour-kNN) and two ensemble learning methods (Stacking, Majority Voting-MV). Accuracy and F-measure is used as a performance metric experiments. According to the results, Ensemble learning methods have shown better results than single machine learning algorithms. Among the overall approaches, MV outperformed Stacking.

As the central organ for human cognition and behavior, the human brain is critical to daily functioning. Brain tumors disrupt normal activities and require accurate diagnosis and intervention. In this study, an approach is presented that allows the detection of tumors in the brain. The main motivation of the study is to determine whether there is a tumor in the brain with high performance. For this purpose, the proposed method was tested using the open-source Br35H brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) dataset. The proposed model, M-C&M-BL, integrates a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for image feature extraction with a Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) Network for sequential data processing. Metrics such as Accuracy (Acc), F1 Score (F1), Precision (Pre), Recall (Rec), Specificity (Spe), and Matthews Correlation Coefficient (MCC) were used for performance evaluation. The proposed model achieved 99.33% Acc and 99.35% F1, outperforming CNN-based models such as BMRI-Net (98.69% Acc, 98.33% F1) and AlexNet (98.79% Acc, 98.82% F1). It also demonstrated competitive performance against MobileNetv2, which achieved a slightly higher Acc of 99.67%. This approach has significant potential for integration into clinical decision support systems, web and mobile diagnostic platforms, and hospital picture archiving and communication systems (PACS). These tools can aid in early diagnosis, improve diagnostic accuracy, and reduce evaluation time. However, challenges such as ensuring privacy, achieving generalizability across diverse datasets, and addressing infrastructure constraints must be addressed for seamless deployment. This study highlights the feasibility and potential of combining deep learning architectures to advance AI-driven tools in healthcare, ultimately improving clinical workflows and patient outcomes.
