Mustiafiz Al Mamun earned his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Khulna
University, Bangladesh, in 2008, and a Master of Science in Urban Environmental
Management from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, in 2016. He is
currently pursuing a PhD in Landscape Architecture in the Department of Urbanism at Delft University of
Technology, The Netherlands. Since 2009, he has been practicing as an academician in the Department of Architecture at Chittagong University of
Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh. His research has been widely published,
focusing on peri-urban landscapes and water-sensitive design. His research focuses include Biophilic Architecture, Urban and Peri-Urban Morphology, Pattern Language of Waterscapes, Water-Sensitive Peri-Urban Design, and Sustainable Heritage and Tourism. He
currently leads a research project on water-dominated peri-urban design and
planning. Al Mamun is a full member of the Institute of Architects
Bangladesh, and the International Society of City and Regional Planners in
The Netherlands. He was awarded the Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship in
2014 and the Prime Minister Fellowship in 2022.
