This research examines the relationship between digital transformation, business performance, and the smart economy. The study uses a purposive sampling method with a quota approach, targeting business owners or managers from traditional retail businesses in smart cities across Thailand. 389 usable responses were collected and analyzed in Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Digital transformation positively correlates with business performance. Moreover, both digital transformation and business performance positively impact the smart economy. The findings support that digital transformation enhances business performance and contributes to the smart economy in retail operations, improving customer experiences and fostering smart economies. This study advances the academic understanding of digital transformation in Thailand’s retail sector, confirming the relevance of the TOE framework. The findings provide practical insights for retail businesses seeking to enhance performance and integrate with the smart economy through digital transformation.

In the context of rapidly evolving digital technologies, existing learning management systems (LMS) often reveal significant shortcomings, particularly in their capacity to integrate seamlessly within the diverse and dynamic ecosystems of contemporary educational environments. To address these challenges, the “Ruamrean” platform was developed, aiming to foster a comprehensive ‘Learning City’ that supports lifelong learning and cultivates a robust learning ecosystem. This research advances the development of a resilient database platform system designed to enhance interagency collaboration among municipal education bodies and augment the quality of life within communities through educational innovations. Implemented across five provinces and engaging 1,030 participants, the methodology employed includes both focus group interviews and in-depth interviews, with data analysis executed via content analysis and exploratory studies. The results demonstrate that the “Ruamrean” platform effectively accommodates various user groups-learners, instructors, and system administrators-offering an extensive catalogue of courses, predominantly in technology-related areas. The development of this platform represents a pivotal advancement in overcoming the educational constraints observed in existing systems and significantly contributes to the sustainable development of local communities.

Residential buildings are a major source of urban carbon emissions, yet the uptake of smart home retrofitting remains far below the level required to meet decarbonization and sustainability targets. While technical solutions for energy-efficient renovation are well established, less is known about how behavioral, psychological, and institutional factors jointly shape household retrofit decisions and their broader sustainability implications. This study develops an integrated analytical framework that combines UTAUT2 with perceived risk, trust, innovativeness, and regulatory pressure, interpreted through a socio-technical systems perspective, to examine smart home retrofitting in Thailand and its contribution to Sustainable Community Development Goals (SCDG). Survey data were collected from 448 households in Bangkok and Chonburi and analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results show that traditional UTAUT2 predictors such as performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence do not significantly influence adoption intention in this high-cost retrofit context. Instead, innovativeness, trust, price value, perceived risk, and regulatory pressure emerge as key behavioral and institutional drivers, while facilitating conditions and habits shape actual use behavior. Actual retrofit behavior is found to generate significant economic, environmental, socio-cultural, technological, and public-policy sustainability outcomes aligned with SCDG. These findings demonstrate the limitations of conventional technology acceptance models in infrastructure-based contexts and provide a mechanism-based explanation of how retrofit adoption is driven in high-cost sustainability contexts.

This research focuses on the development of digital marketing platform “ruamkhai” aimed at promoting a sustainable local economy. By analyzing the needs of the people and designing a suitable platform for selling community products. The study covered 5 provinces: Maha Sarakham, Nakhon Sawan, Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai, and Bangkok. With a total population of 671 people, data collection tools were focus group, in-depth interviews and survey. Data were analyzed using content analysis, pattern matching and a preliminary study (Exploratory Study). The results of the research found four main problems: security, product standards, transaction data, and online business skills. The research used the Community Business Model (CBMC) to analyze the business model. The ruamkhai platform has a total of 584 users. Most of the best-selling products are in the food/beverage category. ROI analysis reveals that sellers' revenue increased by more than 10%. Research shows that “ruamkhai” platforms can help increase income and boost the local economy. In addition, the integration with other platforms such as “ruamrean” and “ruamshare” through API creates a new ecosystem in Thailand. Lead to sustainable development in every province across the country and support strategic planning of the province and country.

Although digital transformation has expanded classroom technology access, the integration of ethical development within digital learning environments remains limited. This study investigates the relationship between executive functions and ethical digital citizenship among primary school students aged 6–12 years. Key contributing factors examined include smart education, digital literacy, ethical competency, teacher agency, institutional support, and executive function. Empirical data were collected from 387 primary school teachers and administrators within the Office of the Basic Education Commission network via online and printed questionnaires, capturing educators’ professional observations and proxy-reports of their students’ behavior. Using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM), the study tested seven hypotheses. Results indicate that smart education directly influences digital literacy, a relationship significantly moderated by teacher agency. Furthermore, digital literacy directly impacts ethical competency, with institutional support serving as a critical moderator. Finally, executive functions demonstrated a significant, direct impact on students’ ethical competency. By highlighting the interconnected roles of these six factors, this study provides a novel, evidence-based framework that policymakers can utilize to effectively foster ethical digital citizenship among young Thai learners.
