I am a computational biologist who specializes in using mathematical and dynamic network modeling to study cell signaling and tissue morphogenesis. Affiliated with the CAG Center for Endotheliomics at Copenhagen University Hospital (Rigshospitalet), his research focuses primarily on endothelial cell dynamics, angiogenesis, and the endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EndMT). By constructing integrated Boolean networks and discrete mathematical models, I investigate how microenvironmental inputs—such as shear stress, mechanical forces, and oxygen availability—influence endothelial cell fate decisions during blood vessel growth and disease states like tumor vascularization, vascular malformations, and tissue fibrosis. Beyond developmental pathways, his work explores the systemic effects of trauma and acute inflammation on vascular integrity, particularly how sympathetic overactivation and inflammatory stress induce shock-induced endotheliopathy, glycocalyx breakdown, hyperpermeability, and microvascular dysfunction.
