Dragana Nikitovic is a professor and head of the Department of Histology–Embryology, School of Medicine, University of Crete in Heraklion, Greece. She graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Belgrade, obtaining her BSc in biochemistry and molecular biology. She has carried out postgraduate research at the Department of Biochemistry, School of Medicine, Queen Mary and Westfield College, London, and the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, where she obtained a half-time PhD diploma. She earned a Doctor of Medical Sciences degree from the Department of Morphology, Medical School, University of Crete. Her scientific interests are focused on the study of matrix biology in cancer and inflammation.
