Nikolaos S. Thomaidis received a B.S. in Chemistry and Ph.D degrees from the University of Athens (UoA) in 1990 and 1996, respectively, and then worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Dept. of Chemistry, Universitaire Instelling Antwerpen (U.I.A), Belgium, Agricultural University of Athens and the Dept. of Environmental Studies of the University of the Aegean. He became a lecturer at UoA in 2003, and he is currently a Professor at the Department of Chemistry. He is the principal investigator of the Trace Analysis and Mass Spectrometry group in the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry of the University of Athens. He is or was a member of editorial boards for several journals and guest editor/associate editor for the special issues of five journals (Analytica Chimica Acta, Analytical Letters, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Chemosphere and Molecules). His research topics mainly include analytical chemistry and mass spectrometry, separation sciences, environmental chemistry of emerging contaminants, Food Chemistry, and Food Authenticity.
